Introduction to Pivot Doors
Pivot doors have an offset hinge which creates a grand entrance for any modern home. It also allows the door slab to be much wider than a typical door. We combined this unique construction with our Euro Technology to create a pivot door which is equipped for all climates and unlike anything else on the market.
- Minimum slab size: 48″ x 80″ usable opening of 36″
- Maximum Slab Size: 60″ x 108″, usable opening of 42″
- Locking Mechanism: Multipoint
- Slab thickness: 3-1/2″
- Double-rabbeted edges for superior weather-proofing
- Weather stripping on all four edges to block out wind, insects, and debris
- Can come with aluminum cladding on the exterior size for a virtually maintenance-free finish
- Equipped with a thermally-broken, flat, ADA threshold. Flat thresholds are not weather proof, so this door should be paired with a large overhand and drainage system to prevent leaks.
- Unit Size: 3-3/4″ wider and 3-1/2″ taller than the slab size
Pivot Doors Construction
Our Pivot Doors are constructed in a way that allows us to make the most of the benefits of pivot doors while avoiding the drawbacks they face. Here is a breakdown of some of the technology in our pivot doors:
- Modern Euro Tech: While the benefits and details of Euro Tech was taught in the “Euro Technology” section of the Product Training, it is important to note that our pivot doors are built with Modern Euro Tech. This technology is what separates us from our solid wood door competitors. While most pivot doors struggle with poor insulation and warping, the Euro Tech in our pivot doors works to prevent this. It also improves durability and weather resistance.
- Multi-Point Lock System: The multi-point lock system comes with our Pivot Doors. Locking at multiple points, this system uses various locking mechanisms to improve insulation, resistance to warping, and security.
- Double Rabbeted Joints: The joints on both sides of the door frame and door slab are double rabbeted, meaning that they are made in this “zig-zig”, “stair-like”, or “double right angle” shape, visible on the accompanying image. This allows for an air-tight seal, drastically improving insulation.

The Pivot Doors rotate on a Pivot hinge that has a set of pins mounted on the top and bottom of the door. The hinge is offset from the door frame. The technology and design of a Pivot hinge allow for large doors that generally cannot be supported by traditional hinges. Pivot hinges are ideal for doors that are at least 48” wide. Outside of practicality, the door with its imaginative Pivot hinge system has a contemporary and seamless look. We recommend this kind of door for anyone looking for a modern, contemporary and transitional aesthetic.
